Absa Bank continues its longstanding partnership with the Mr Price Foundation Challenge.
The Mr Price Foundation Challenge is not just another virtual sports event. It’s a global virtual cycling and running event with a purpose with passionate individuals, communities and organisations coming together for a greater cause —to help break the cycle of poverty and inequality in South Africa.
The Challenge, taking place on December 5-6, is once again proud to welcome Absa as a partner to the fundraising event that aims to empower South Africa’s youth through the Foundation’s high impact education and skills development programmes.
Kicking off the fundraising for the global event, Absa have committed a R50,000 donation to the Mr Price Foundation. Absa has been a long-standing partner of the Ride for MRP Foundation, the two-day stage ride between Secunda and Durban. Due to COVID-19, the physical ride pivoted into a virtual event, which has opened the ‘field’ to participants from all ages, fitness levels and locations.
“Just like the Mr Price Foundation, Absa believes that education and skills development are key drivers to empowering our country. We are delighted to welcome Absa on board as a partner. We are grateful for their continued support and their generous contributions over the years. There is strength in partnerships, and now more than ever, we all need this.” Karen Wells, Head of Mr Price Foundation.
Thank you to all the Mr Price Foundation Challenge partners who have helped to make this virtual event possible: Comrades Marathon, Absa, Spar, Mr Price Sport, Maxed and Easy2Acess.
Registration for the event can happen through the two-day event. Enter and stand a chance of winning over R100,000 worth of prizes!
